Our philanthropic mission is to provide experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental and social resiliency in girls. We do this through our philanthropic focus, Building Strong Girls. All proceeds from our fall philanthropy are sent to Gamma Phi Beta's international philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is an after school program for 3rd - 8th grade girls that inspires them to be confident, joyful, and healthy all while creatively integrating running. Not only do we donate to this cause, but our sisters are also actively involved as coaches and supporters.
MOONBALL
FALL PHILANTHROPY Moonball is Gamma Phi Beta's international philanthropy event. Every fall, teams compete for various prizes and the title of Moonball Champion in a three on three basketball, volleyball, or kickball tournament. Students, faculty, alumni, and community members are invited to participate. All proceeds from this event benefitted the local Girls On The Run (GOTR) Chapters in Kearney, NE. In the fall of 2021, our virtual Moonball event was super successful! We raised around $8,000 and donated it directly to GOTR.
PANCAKE FEED
SPRING PHILANTHROPY
Our annual spring event is the famous pancake feed. On this day, we fire up the griddles and our waitressing skills to serve the Kearney community endless pancakes, sausage, and eggs. Half of the money we raise from this event is set aside for Girls on the Run. This year, the remaining proceeds went to the Kearney S.A.F.E. Center. This non-profit organization assists women and children in need in the Kearney area. It was an honor to be able to financially assist this organization and help enhance their already successful program.
